Social Security possible update in the future if passes

Seniors and other Social Security recipients in the U.S. have been hit hard by inflation, which has outpaced increases in their benefits this year. However, there is a plan to boost Social Security payments by $2,400 per recipient annually. The Social Security Expansion Act, introduced by Rep. Peter DeFazio and Senator Bernie Sanders, aims to provide relief by increasing each recipient’s monthly check by $2001. This would represent a 12% boost for the average monthly Social Security check, which is about $1,658. Additionally, the bill proposes changes to the program, including applying the Social Security payroll tax on all income above $250,000 to bolster funding1. Although the bill may face obstacles in Congress, addressing the future of Social Security is crucial given the eventual shortfall that could result in a 20% cut to monthly benefits starting in 20351. 🌟MR LARSON IS THE RIGHT STEP
